One thing at a time

I have been struggling over the last few days with fatigue again.  These new meds have been incredible and the amount of energy that has been returned to me is awesome … but its not back to what it once was.  I really need to remember that.

Last week I packed a lot in and now I am paying for that.  It was totally worth it though because I got to see my darling Ashleigh and her mum Pip.  Pip is my cousin slash sister and Ashleigh is her daughter.  We all lived in Western Australia at the same time and I would pop up fortnightly to stay with them.  Because of this we all became very much family in every sense of that word.  To see her again was a joy, we had lots of family zoom catch ups during lockdown which I adored but seeing her in the real was just magical.  It was also lovely seeing Pip again but she has recently moved back to Auckland so we have lots of plans for catching up in the future.

Ashleigh brought with her a gift that I treasure – it’s a wee pot that was supposed to go into my garden.  However, I love it so much it gone “straight to the pool room” on in our case the lounge.  Its just so beautiful and thank you so much for getting it safely to me in one piece.

Later in the week I travelled via train and bus and had a sleep over with one of my favorite humans on the planet.  I was treated like a princess and the home-made food was scrumptious.  I’m not sure I stopped laughing the entire time I was there - so much fun with a one of a kind kindred spirit.

I also worked on Sunday at the op shop where we had a “garage sale” where all clothes and shoes were $1 each.  It went really well and we moved some stock and made some money.  I loved making people’s days by telling them that things were $1.  They just looked ecstatic and one new mum got a boat load of stunning stuff for her new bub. Others got items for next summer and the majority just had a lof of fun grabbing some bargains. I had the pleasure of delivering a large item to a lovely family who have just moved to Featherston.  I can already see that they will become much loved locals.  We have a lot of these at our store and we really love seeing your faces each week.

So, this week I need to keep in mind to do one thing at a time and then rest.  Then tackle the next thing and repeat.
